This qualification reflects the role of entry level community services workers who support individuals through the provision of person-centred services. 

Qualification Description

This qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry as community services workers who provide a first point of contact and assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs. At this level, work takes place under direct, regular supervision within clearly defined guidelines.

 

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 9

  • 5 core units
  • 4 elective units.  All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
BSBWOR202 Organise and complete daily work activities

Electives:
CHCDIV002 Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety
HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
CHCCDE003 Work within a community development framework
CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
